college men's bball has been pro level for quite awhile now, for everything but
player compensation. If you really just want pure amateur athletics, do we really need an end of year national tournament? That results in a lot of travel that isn't adding much to academic learning.

Complaining fans want to have it both ways - they want all games on national tv. They want super high level play. They want impeccable referreeing with video reviews with powerful video cameras so that we can get the calls right down to a touched fingernail. They want incredible news coverage with detailed reports. They want their own teams to have high powered analytics and a whole counsel of smart dudes to advise the coaches on strategy. they want national end-of-season tournaments with sufficient access (with games preferably in nice locales for accompanying fan vacations).

But then players suddenly start to act their part, and now so many fans are up in arms.
