I'd have to go back and look at each year, but they've never shown a Year over
Year inflation number during Biden's term that would cumulatively add up to a four year 60% increase. The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows a 12.5% increase from 2020-21, 9.9% from 2021-22, 5% from 2022-23, and 3.5% from 2023-24.

Take $5 in 2020 and add 12.5% for inflation and you get $5.63 (rounded up to the nearest penny).
Take $5.63 and add 9.9% for inflation and you get $6.19 (rounded up to the nearest penny).
Take $6.19 and add 5% for inflation and you get $6.50 (rounded up to the nearest penny).
Take $6.50 and add 3.5% for inflation and you get $6.73 (again rounded up to the nearest penny).

Reality is telling me I'm see $8 or more for the same item. Not $6.73. There are exceptions where inflation hasn't been as high. And some where it has been higher. But the overall bill is up 60% for the same items. The government's figures are off.
