I had initially turned the water on with the valves closed and when i opened them the water flowed hard from the bottom.

I shut off the water and then left the valves open. Then I turned the water on again and it flowed all the way through as it should.

I was really worried that I'd have to replace it all so hopefully you can resolve it without issue.
