There could be other problems with the steering, but if you bought the pump
from a local parts store, they can be bad out of the box. Happened on my Honda. I finally just got the pump from the dealer. I don't trust those components from the local parts stores anymore. It has to be an OE or OEM part. My time is too valuable.
