Yup my friends and I were joyriding at 15, just drooling to take drivers ed.
Getting your license to drive was a HUGE thing back in the day. I took drivers ed when I was 16, but Mr. Creek (taught government) failed me because I missed 2 of my scheduled drives (I was down in Utah for BYU football both times) so when I turned 17 I walked into the courthouse and got my license without drivers ed (had to be 17 in Idaho). It was the best thing ever. Next I got a job and saved up enough to buy a cheap crappy motorcycle to get around.

I suddenly sound like I grew up in the 1950s.
