best season ever was 2019-2020 where Liverpool was on 82pts after 29 games (27-1-1).....the same Arsenal is on this year after 37 games. LFC went 5-2-2 in the last 9 after returning from a covid disruption. If they stayed on the same pre-covid pause pace they are easily the top point total ever - despite what the Arsenal Invincibles might counter - and the single best season in Prem history. You can't call the Invincibles the best ever if they "only" had 90 points. City and LFC both have had multiple teams better than them.

Arsenal this year will top at 89, so close to their top ever but not quite. It's pretty incredible how consistent City has been for the better part of a decade and how many times they and LFC) have been north of 90.

And pretty incredible how often newly promoted teams are shown the door after a season.
