decent chance I am going to lose. Ha ha.

I was teaching the combined Teachers Quorum and YW 2 class since it was Mother’s Day and asked about highlights of the week. Her friends were talking her up after her performance at regionals and that she may kill it this week down at BYU for state. They claimed she is faster than any boy in the ward and probably faster than me. I said I am pretty fast and suddenly the challenge was on.

I am 48 and haven’t raced anyone in over 20 years. She told me her personal best in the 100 meter is 13.1. I went to the Lone Peak track today to see what I can do and with a slow start to ensure I didn’t pull a hammy or rupture an Achilles I ran 14.05. So I figure if I practice my start and she doesn’t have track cleats or a starting block this could be a photo finish Tuesday night. Regardless it should be funny. Several other people in the ward are jumping in on the action. We may determine who is the fastest person in the ward if we can get the word out. Debating if I announce it as part of announcements Sunday since I am conducting. I think it’s the kind of thing that could create fun memories in a brand new ward.

So CB if you live near Lone Peak, there could be a comical show Tuesday night at the Lone Peak track around 8:30pm. Old man injuries and a 9th grade girl embarrassing a bunch of guys are both highly likely. Ha ha ha
