Utah counts basement sqft, many other states do not.

One thing I've seen when comparing in other areas, Utah almost universally counts basement space as part of square

In Michigan, it's illegal to count even finished basements in square footage

Here is a Zillow example. 800 above ground and 800 below to get to the total sqft.

My house on zillow only includes the finished square feet. The total sqare feet is 4700. That's what it is
