I don't know what's hard vs not hard or know the difference between a ball rolling on soft and hard greens. So as a casual fan I like low scores.

But I respect what you're saying. I love soccer, grew up playing. I get enjoyment out of watching them pass and win a 1-0 match. Same with hockey. But casual fans hate it - they want high scoring affairs. All I'm saying is it's the same thing all the other major sports deal with when trying to build a fan base of purists and casuals.
