It seems like this concept equates spending and happiness. However, most studies
show that spending more than a basic amount does not increase happiness. My joy will come from being more confident to not outlive my money, to not being a burden to my kids, and be a little help after I die. I also believe being poor when you are a young couple is a BENEFIT to them, not a hindrance. All this seems to me to mean I shouldn't just flit it all away early.

I’ve always been the spender in the family. Wife was much more budget conscious. We just read Die With Zero.
