I can live just fine if an HC manages like a CEO: hires great people (i.e., recruits lots of top players), demands organizational discipline, creates a winning culture, and cuts his losses early while delegating details to very talented direct reports With a few exceptions, we aren't seeing that CEO capability consistently.
My post never talked about building stadiums or fundraising. Don't conflate the post with things good HCs typically are not tasked with.
