highway and you hike east from there. You could do it either way, though, and stop and camp and fish at lakes in the Grandaddy area. Rainbow Lake is a good stopping point before Four Lakes Basin.

I've always come in from the south at Hades Pass. The trail is steep for about the first 1/4 mile or so,
