post about something relatively trivial (like wanting to change one's physical appearance) and somebody else turns it into some weird indictment of character.
The implication seems quite strong and clear. If you want a nose ring, it's because you're not serving enough and volunteering enough and you're wayward. If you were as righteous as x, y, z person, then you wouldn't want a nose ring any more. You're clearly trying to fill a spiritual hole in your life by creating a new hole in your nose.
It's seriously, majorly [BARF] to me. Gross.
