I'm not really a beach person so I spent most of my time more inland. I took a bus to get to Ubud and then had a private driver one day take me to the rice terraces and other sites. It was pretty cheap to have a private driver for the day. I had read that it might not be wise to try and drive in Bali so I chose not to rent a car.
