At Depoe Bay, you typically can see the whales right there in the harbor or just out of the harbor from the land. Just
South of there, there is a turn off to Otter Creek. Go there to see even better views of whales.
And if you are going to Newport, go to Local Oceans. They are one of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. Most of the seafood and ingredients are locally sourced. The Brazilian Fish Wives stew is an amazing dish.
