Officials were not great. A couple of times the linesman looked scared to call offsides.
There is some legit talent on this team that needs time to develop. Watching BSU blow past BYU a couple of times and get the the ball before BYU was disappointing.
The goal by Dixon was really fantastic. Hamberlin does some really great work crossing the ball...just needs some time to adjust to D1 soccer. I thought that Pratt looked pretty good tonight and was really glad to see that her injury didn't keep her off the field in the second half. Seeing Abbie Sine in the game was fantastic. I wasn't sure if she was going to be ready at all this season and she's a lot of fun to watch. By the the time she's fully back I could see her locking down one of the starting defense positions.
Vance confuses me. Does she have an injury or something that she is nursing? There were several times where the field in front of her was wide open and if she had accelerated a pass to her would have given her a lot of momentum down the line. Instead she ran parallel to whoever had the ball and then tried to cut back into the middle. She's got tons of talent and she can obviously shoot the ball....but there is just something missing and it really seems like she's avoiding going all out as if she's not healthy. I think she could be an incredible field general directing the offense when Bailey and Fryer are healthy, but she's got to get over the seeming self-imposed limit.
Anyone else notice that the players who finished the second half didn't get back into the game at all? Dixon and Pennock?
