How about this then:
Here's the chicken & dumplings recipe:

- Large can of cream of chicken soup, or 4 small cans
- 1 large onion (chopped)
- 1 to 2 boneless chicken thighs or breasts PER PERSON (how hungry are they?)
(Note: I prefer the taste of the thighs)
- 2 to 3 cans of Pillsbury pop biscuits (the blue can tastes best)
- poultry seasoning
- black pepper
- garlic powder

Once the coals are ready, put your dutch oven on them and arrange the chicken so most of it is touching the bottom, then cover. Check occasionally and move the chicken so it doesn't stick to the bottom. You can add some coals to the lid for this part ( I usually do) because it will make it cook faster. When the chicken is cooked through, add the soup and about half the recommended amount of water. Add the onions, then poultry seasoning, pepper, and garlic to taste, and mix in well. Put the lid back on and be patient. When the soup starts bubbling, open the pop biscuits, and arrange them right on top, covering all the soup as best you can--you'll want a lot of biscuits. Cover again, then put most of the coals on the lid (leaving 5 or 6 on the bottom still). It's done when the biscuits are golden brown, but watch carefully so they don't burn.

This is a really tasty and inexpensive meal. My scouts (and their dads) like it a lot.
