if we could convince private donors to provide for the IPF and student athlete center, could we not do the same for the establishment of a medical school? Surely someone with loads of money would love to have his/her family name attached to a prestigious medical school?

I wonder about this point too, that one of the reasons we don't classify as a "research" school (although I know this is just a smokescreen for religious prejudice by the Pac10) is because we have no medical school?
