I remember surviving the nights in my winter camp. I remember the summer camp
night when my buddies pitched their tent next to the lake bank and it rained and they got flooded. 5 of us in a two man tent.

Yup. It sucked.

We joke about it now. We made it.

I never required a cell phone to function on my mission and was never tempted to go home, so there is that.

I've said it before: Millenials need the opportunity to take a dump with mosquitoes feasting on their butts so they know they can leave mommy and function on their own.

Just maybe the increase in kids coming home early from their missions for non-medical reasons is directly proportional to the parents lack of setting up "hard" camps and the dwindling participation mentioned above? Just maybe this is the reason the brethren want to stick with scouts and are re-affirming to bishops that THIS IS the program despite many on CB saying we should have bailed years ago?
