More pre-game entertainment and cultural events could be a huge hit
Seriously, BYU has students and alumni from all over the world and a student body that has been all over the world. Amazing talent.

BYU would be wise to embrace its student body's talents and have more pre-game festivities. I'm thinking:

Folkdance or men's chorus concert in the quad or by the Victory Bell (or in the MC if bad weather).
Real Polynesians doing the Haka or other cool cultural dancing and singing.
Skits by the Studio C cast.
Devotional or Keynote speaker at the Wilk or MC with President Samuelsen, famous alumni, BYU professors, etc.
Performances or exhibits from various BYUSA clubs.

The point is, if you give fans a reason to make a day out of it and to be on campus at least a couple hours before kickoff, the tailgating culture will follow suit. It could work for Saturday day and night games, and even Friday night games, IMO.
