Tailgating Isn't Fun. That's Why it Won't Catch On at BYU.
There is a reason why tailgaters drink. Sitting in a parking lot waiting for the game to start gets old in about 30 minutes. Kind of like camping at a lame public campground. Beer apparently makes it tolerable.
If BYU wants to gave a cool pre-game atmosphere, it should try something other than tailgating. It would need to be more interactive, and shorter in duration than your average tailgating scene at schools lubricated by beer.
