Yes, but most CBers say the ball was moving forward.
But I think BYU would have won the game anyway. I don't think it was the last play of the game or anything.

Has BYU ever won a game thanks to a really bad call/missed call by the refs?

*missed facemask penalty vs SDSU on same play. So not exactly.

Didn't BYU beat Washington years ago, in part to a bad celebration call. The QB

I'd guess you'd have to demonstrate how the celebration call resulted in a blocked PAT

Yeah, it was the only thing that came to mind.

I thought at the time that UW would have gone for 2. And probably would've won.

Jake Locker would have got the 2 point conversion easily

No, Locker threw the ball 50 feet into the air. Happened right in front of me.

I remember on Sportcenter that night, they went through every other TD...

Yet the announcers stated it was a rule he broke. Dumb rule/Right call

They were mostly pointing out the selective nature of enforcing the rule.

Calling a penalty for a specific rule violation is a good call. Now if you

The lengths Ute fans on CB go to gin a good call into a bad is what astounds me.

Not going to great lengths. Just sharing my take on a game I happened to watch.

Objectively, the Locker call (in their stadium) was exactly by the rule book...

No, it doesn't count as an incorrect call, but it absolutely counts as a bad one

Did Locker "throw the ball high into the air"? That is the exact wording of the example written into the rule

Define high... 15-feet? 25-feet? 50-feet? It's a subjective call, by rule. Refs

So your argument is that he didn't throw it *high enough* to be considered "high"?
mvtoro

I never said the call was incorrect, I said the rule is by nature subjective.
scootsy
11/17/17 3:58pm
OK. So it was a correct call that you, also subjectively, don't like. That's fine. I don't much like it either.

Yeah, pac-10 officiating really sucked. So does pac-12 officiating.
