recruiting BYU kids entirely because they've been burned too many times by kids who got tired after 3 years of the "adventure" of living outside of Utah.
It's not like it's only Mormons who do this. My firm right now has several attorneys who worked in New York or Atlanta and then moved back to be closer to family. But it happens somewhat distinctly with Utah kids/Mormons because they often leave Utah to go to school in places like New York, Boston, Chicago, DC, etc., get hired to work in those locations, and then leave to go back.
