jake heaps was done at BYU when after a winning streak and a bowl
victory with an injured shoulder( he had surgery in january ) Both bronco and failed to say he was the qb or that the position was his to lose or anything like that. The word from both was "well he will take first snaps in the spring, he has earned that" Jake had played well and with him confidence is a big thing. The first snap comment was followed up with open support for Riley Nelson who was Domans guy.

Some people dispute this but if you look at the other qb's that Doman brought in, none of them were pocket qb's. karessa and the kid from oregon that tried to commit earlier this year make this point. It was a direction that Doman believed in and an arm was not important and that wheels were. Jake has no wheels and it has been his downfall. the Wilstead kid from pine view was told that BYU was not going to recruit him. it was a total direction away from a passing game.

Jake didn't have a guy in the room when the decisions were being made and the offense was going away from him. the players on the team could see and feel this political and tactical shift of support and knew where to line up. It was all bad and toxic for Jake and the team, he had to leave. I don't blame him and I credit him for his class in never bad mouthing BYU, its fans, coaches or players.

There were mistakes on both sides but the other qb's like james lark talk about how Doman totally ignored and was almost rude to anyone but his chosen qb's. In that environment the best thing for BYU,Jake and everyone involved was to go.

It is unfortunate that kansas chose to change their offense but that is how it goes.

The direction has now changed, cody Wilstead has an offer and we are not afraid of quarterbacks that can throw down field. Its all good
