This is what I posted when Jake transfered.

"I sincerely wish Jake Heaps the best and hope he does well.
I think hope is the best way to describe it because Im afraid he has painted himself into a corner. It seems that he has focused his entire life on making it to the NFL. Even more so than most talented BYU or even other Division I college football players usually do.

During high school he decided that he would not serve a mission in order to improve his chances of making it to the NFL. Not an unusual decision but it does place even more emphasis on achieving a goal when you sacrifice other important goals to get there.

After his freshman year he got married. Marriage is an extremely important decision, and the timing of the event as well as the maturity and expectations the new couple can have a huge impact. Even at BYU, a 19 year old non-RM getting married is not the norm, and at any other school a married underclassman athlete is unheard off. If you add the expectation that an extremely high paying career as a profession athlete is inevitable and that is a lot of pressure to have on your shoulders as young man.

Now he is transferring from a program where he has been successful in the past and where another opportunity to be successful is just a matter of time. To an unknown program where he may or may not get the opportunity that is expected and may or may not be successful.

I genuinely hope he is successful at his next school. I would love to watch him play in the NFL and I think it could be devastating to him personally if things do not work out."
