I'll just simply list my points so that maybe you'll understand without having to read too much.

1. The Jazz HAVE to be successful as a business or they'll leave the market. Fans here won't support them if they're bad too long.

2. The Jazz have likely had better draft picks when they were making the playoffs than they'll have this year by tanking.

3. It's not all about what kind or how long of a contract the Jazz CAN offer but what they WILL offer. What happens to your plan if the Jazz simply don't match a max deal some team decides to offer Hayward ? Their goes one of your building blocks. The Jazz can't afford to make contract mistakes.

4. There are other ways to get better than FA or the draft ... it's called trades.

5. Good scouting and evaluation can find valuable players throughout the draft without the need to tank.
