away from Whittingham. KWhit still has his finger on the defense despite Kalani as defensive coordinator. I would need to see him coach elsewhere to see how he does on his own as a coordinator or as a head coach. Great guy, but can't be judged as a coach yet due to KWhit. His appointment to DC I believe was a result of two things: 1) KWhit saw how good a recruiter Kilani was, especially with Polys and NEEDED to have that strong pull to his program 2) The fact that KWhit would still be hands on with the defense he could take an inexperienced coach that was GREAT at recruiting.
