The biggest knock against him has only a little to do with him.

Most of the young coordinators without HC experience that have been hired to be HC's in the league have struggled.

IMO, that is probably the biggest reason he didn't get an offer this last off season. What he has done with Russell Wilson and the Seattle O is very impressive.
