Maternal hemorrhage is probably the number one cause of maternal death in the US

There are a lot of reasons women can bleed post partum from either vaginal delivery or c-section, and it isn't benign.

The uterus is super vascular at the time of delivery and it can bleed like crazy.

I'm glad your wife was fine, but this was an FYI.
