like bringing the 68-team basketball tourney down to a 16-team basketball tourney. I think a 16-team college football playoff would be must-see TV and create a lot of buzz just like March Madness.

Based on the 2014 season, here's how it could work:

- Have the selection show on Sunday right after the CCGs (12/7/14)
- Top 16 teams get in, based on final rankings by selection committee
- Sweet 16 played on 12/13/14 at the higher seed's home field
- Elite 8 played on 12/20/14 at the higher seed's home field
- Final Four played on 1/1/15 at the Rose and Sugar bowls
- Championship played on 1/12/15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX

Then, everyone else that isn't in the Top 16, but is .500 or better can get invited to bowl games.
