BYU brand took a hit while playing in obscurity on the MTN.
While Boise St. was winning a bunch of new fans as ESPN's darling program, BYU was losing national appeal by playing on a network very few people could actually see. It made a BIG difference. Now that we're back on ESPN (a lot), BYU has the chance to grow the brand again. It's unfortunate that our QB situation wasn't what it needed to be to put up some real strong seasons to start independence and the ESPN contract. Still, the opportunity to take advantage of all the great exposure is still there. Need to start putting together top 15-like seasons fairly regularly, and the viewership will jump. This next season or two with Taysom could really make a difference.
