I have never heard that. I have heard that Harvey Langi cleaned up his act and got ready for a mission while at the U. I have participated in the strong institute program. I have seen and heard about lots of missionary work done at the U - this includes guys like Eric Weddle and hundreds of people that aren't on the fball team (foreign students are a target rich environment for missionaries). I have never heard of an honor code at the U or requirements regarding beards, hair length, mandatory religion classes, etc. I have personally bought a caffeinated drink at the U. The academic focus is different (BYU undergrad, Utah research); the entry reqts are different (BYU hard, Utah easy). Making it through the full 4 years to graduation after being accepted into the university are remarkably different (BYU easy, Utah hard). The schools are very very different and they are both impressive in their own ways. I can't imagine any intelligent person thinking that the schools are the same.
