humans have used color to name and describle things for thousands of years. It is natural to associate things with color be it a tree, an animal, or a person. Anybody who gets vocal about renaming the items I have listed above to remove the color and assign a name that better describes where they come from or what they are made out of would probably be laughed out of the room.

So unless the Native Americans personally request the NFL change the name, I don't see why it should be done. Based on the OP, the Native Americans had an involvement in selecting the name and logo.
