Not an expert
but that really might not be a hobo. We have spiders that look roughly like that in our house somewhat often (in the PNW) and people here just refer to them as "house spiders." I've stepped on one with bare feet without killing it and it just chilled and left me alone. (I went back and killed it shortly thereafter, of course.)

Like I said, I'm no expert, but there may be several spiders that look roughly like that, so yours may not be a problem.
