...and lets think this through. Diaco did well against BYU while he was the ND DC using players from perennial top 25 recruiting classes. Now....fast forward to the present:
1). Diaco doesn't have any ND players or top 25 recruiting classes to work with
2). UConn doesn't have a dominant OL or DL (like ND did)
3). We're not stuck with WR's who physically lack the ability to create separation
4). We're not in year 1 of a brand new offense with a first year starting QB
5). Scheme doesn't matter if Diaco doesn't have players that can execute it
6). We've greatly improved talent and depth at OL, WR, DL, and DB.
7). They are the team now working with a brand new offense (and defense for that matter)
8). They are the team now working with a brand new starting QB (yes I know he had 3 starts last year vs Memphis, Temple and Rutgers who went a combined 11-26).
9). There are no hurricanes, monsoons, or tropical storms forecast
10). UConn isn't on any known fault lines so the likelihood of a major earthquake is minimal
