Didn't make it to a BCS game when that was still the system used to determine
the national champion.
That is the only logical on the field event that justifies yewtah and TCU getting invited to bigger conferences.
Every other argument does not hold the weight that one carries with it. Pac-10 and Big XII had to add schools to cover attrition and re-write the 3rd tier media contracts that the conferences had. One can make the argument for the TV markets that were or were not added by including those schools in conference expansion, but that and all other arguments are just window dressing. It was solely a football based decision, and that both schools went to 2 BCS games justified that decision in their eyes.
BYU does something identical or similar and we're talking about our next in conference opponent we face Saturday instead of Virginia.
