It really rubbed me wrong this offseason when the SEC and ACC came out and stated they do not consider BYU to be P-5 calibre for their non conference scheduling. I can easily say We are better than half the P-5 teams on the field, our tradition is rich, we have a National Championship in the modern era, a Heisman winner, Outland and Doak Walker winners, a rabid fan base. We are not P-5 worthy, but Iowa State is. Rutgers is, Colorado is, Utah is, Duke is, but BYU isn't.
I hope we beat the living day lights out of Virginia. I hope this game sends a message to the ACC that we are P-5 calibre. We can leave no doubt. And, heaven forbid, we lose....those smug talking heads will feel justified and will say, "see, we knew they were not P 5 worthy."
To me, A LOT rides on this game. My plea and prayer to the God I know and love is that everyone is safe and we leave no doubt on the field. It's time to put up...or shut up. It's time to make an example of a team and that team is Virginia.
