blah blah. Bottom line is that Blanding had a slight angle advantage, sure (not a huge one though). And yes, Blackmon had to slow down to catch the ball before turning up field. But once Blackmon was up to full speed, Blanding still caught him pretty easily. Blanding is recorded on maxpreps, rivals, and yahoo sports to run anywhere from a 4.5-4.55, so he is at least as fast as Blackmon. Blackmon has above-average speed, no question, but he doesn't have that blazing speed that many were envisioning.
