Parting words...
I tried last week to engage posters for intelligent conversation on both our teams and didn't have any luck. So, I'll say congratulations on your win and best wishes for the rest of the year. I'd also like to make a couple more comments and I know they will not be accepted too well, but they are sincere and I hope some will take them to heart.

I realize that you only make up a portion of the fan base I witnessed in Charlottesville and on TV yesterday, but you really need to look at yourselves. The incessant booing is ridiculous. You can't even claim it is because of something you saw on replay because it often happens immediately after the play. Maybe I'm wrong and the average BYU fan's eyesight is well beyond that of other fans? ACC officials are not the best in the world, but they are generally fair in their crapiness in that they do it to both teams, not with an agenda. The "there is no foul on the play the offense was shifting" is the most ridiculous call I have ever seen. It is one thing for one or two to shift, but when it involves a down lineman moving downfield, that is NOT a shift.

As for the official trying to curtail excessive celebration... if you watch some more ACC games this year you will notice that they do it after scores and in the middle of the field on most plays. I do not know why they have chosen to play good cop versus just tossing the flag, but they are making a concerted effort this year to curtail the celebrations, without penalizing your every move. Good or bad I don't know, but I do know it wasn't a conspiracy to only do it to your people. You are a very paranoid fan base, based on all I have read this week. The world isn't out to get BYU athletics.

Lastly, this comes from my wife. Let me clarify that she isn't a UVA fan like me, she was born and raised in S. Carolina and is a Clemson fan. She watched the game with me and had this comment. "Is it just me, or is this not one of the dirtiest teams we've ever watched?" She pointed out several late hits, shoves, taunting, etc. Your number of penalties, while high, should be MUCH higher. She was especially taken aback because of your affiliation with the Mormon LDS church. It is one thing to be aggressive, but what we saw was out of control.

I had really planned to come to Provo for this game, but my wife and I have lost several family members lately and endured other issues so I decided not to. Based on what I have read and witnessed on TV, I'm glad I didn't.
