1) Most (if not all) will agree that the "offense was shifting" call was ridiculous. But Booing isn't unique to BYU. I hear fans in stadiums all across the country booing calls that go against them (even, sometimes, when the call was correct).

2) I don't think you'll find many who believe there was a conspiracy to curtail only BYU's celebrations. But I agree that the fan-based is paranoid. When your rival (Utah) is now in the exclusive P5 club and there appears no reasonable chance that you will ever be permitted to join the club, paranoia starts to set in. If Virginia was in the same boat (no P5 conference and P5 conferences stating that games against VA don't qualify as a quality non-P5 game), I think you'd see some of the same paranoia.

3) I've also been disappointed with some of the late hits and other personal foul penalties. I think no team in the nation is penalized more than BYU. Perhaps that fact leads to the "more booing at BYU" theory. When there are only 4-5 flags thrown against you during the entire game, there are fewer booing opportunities. When there are 10-15 flags thrown against you--many of them the 15-yard variety--there are more booing opportunities.

4) I think you would have enjoyed the trip to Provo (outside of the game itself). The surrounding mountains are beautiful this time of year.
