Royal blue sales were abysmal
for the reason that wearing BYU apparel was not pushed then as it is today. For a long period of time, there was no royal blue apparel in the bookstore. Then they started with a single line of men's T shirts which was expanded into women's. Now they have added a collared shirt and sweat shirts.

The addition of the royal blue suggests two things: i) it is selling and ii) someone must have done some market research to make the determination to add it.

I'm much older than Cougarbart and I prefer the royal blue. So too do my kids--all married--and my grandkids. While anecdotal, it suggests merit to Courgarbart's core argument.
