This is exactly right:

I was taking "Football Coaching" (PE 300s) the semester we made the change to Navy. We had a representative from Nike come and talk to the class (Jr. Mahe was in that class with me, 97 or 98?) and he explained why they were going to Navy and he suggested it would probably be temporary since Royal was killing them at the time but when that color fad passed, tradition would, most likely, bring back Royal.

And then they introduced the bibs and I threw up in my mouth.

I believe we are ready to bring back tradition.
