Come on, you think Bronco deserves a pat on the back for beating UTEP, Idaho State and Middle Tennessee State? He has lost to some mediocre the last few years, including San Jose State, Virginia, UCF and Utah State (twice). Even Texas the past two years has been a very soft team.
The program is operating as a mediocre mid-major. BYU would not win the MWC or AAC this year, and may even finish middle of the pack. They haven't finished the season ranked since Max Hall left in 2009.
I guess if you are happy being Utah State, then Mendenhall is your guy. If you think BYU should be in the Big 12 or PAC-12, then his teams would have losing schedules. If you don't believe me, what's his record against Utah the past 5 years?
