Personally, I feel like we next year (assuming Taysom doesn't enter the draft) we could be really good and have a special season. If we crap the bed next year, then I'm on board with changing the regime. I just think that breaking in a new HC, OC, DC during Taysom's Sr. season might be a waste of it.
But after reading all the "if not Bronco than who?" posts (including my own:
http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=13092752), I agree that the correct perspective is what billyrust says above. The question shouldn't be "Who's better than Bronco?", it should be "What do we want our program to be? And can the current staff get us there?" If the answer to both those questions is no, then you need to make a change. The reason the second question is difficult is that, when at near 100% healthy we blew through the toughest part of our schedule but after injuries (not just Taysom) we've dropped 3 straight to teams we should beat. If we didn't get bitten by the injury bug, we're tickling the top 10 right now with the current staff. (Utah State was looking good, but if we score before the half and are down 7 at halftime, I personally believe we pull that game out with Taysom, not that it matters now. And I think we win UCF and Nevada with a healthy Taysom and JSwagg). I promise you that if Jimbo or Saban or Urban lose 25 guys, many of them starters or big contributors, they will lose some games.
