They tried at least at first. They just gave up because it was going nowhere. Maybe they didn't try hard enough. Chapman isn't LDS and really wasn't interested in BYU even with his buddy Dalton Nixon trying hard to persuade him. Similar deal with Loveridge in that he was never that interested although he tried to give us a look at least. The real difference may be in Larry K keeping those types of players in state, but not in getting the LDS players who fit the BYU profile like Majerus could often get.
