That said, sounds like I was on the east side and you were on the west. The east bench of salt lake has been a traditional Utah hotbed going back much further than the 80's.
My family has had season tickets since the 60's and I am very familiar with RICE Stadium as I was there for most games.
There is no question that BYU was on the top of the world, but very few people around us were happy about that.
