I was sitting on the same row as you but to your right. I witnessed the same
Our team did not come ready to play. I could see it in the warm ups. They were going through the motions. First play we come out and get a facemask personal foul on the kickoff. On one play a single BSU receiver effectively blocked three BYU defenders. That is just effort and desire. Three guys? Come on. The biggest difference between last year defense and this year is our LBers are atrocious this year. No edge speed or middle power/instincts/footwork. As you mentioned, they whiff A LOT!! Would be great at flag football where you can just dive and reach your hand out to make the stop. Pearson = player of the game. He worked hard to get open, clearly wanted to get the ball and gain YAC. Leslie quit on a route in the endzone. The ball was thrown a little in front of him and he just quit on the play. He might not have been able to get to it but the defender was touching him. At least make an attempt to get to the ball to either have a chance at getting it or have e a chance at forcing the refs to decide whether it is a PI call in the endzone.

Why did Anae throw the ball deep in our territory with time running out in half in long yardage situation. Just run the clock out Robert. Did you not learn anything against UCLA in the Vegas Bowl? You take risks in that part of the field with low probability of scoring and on the outside chance you turn it over right there you give them almost sure points??????? I don't get you man.

Personal foul after personal foul. We had three in the first quarter. False starts? Multiple. For a program that prides itself on being replete with disciplined men, we do not show discipline on the field. Something is wrong.

BYU is playing flat, undisciplined, unprepared, sad football right now. We left after the third quarter to drive back to Salt Lake because one of our party had to catch a flight for a recruiting trip to Stanford for their football game. We didn't have to leave early to be back in time. If things do not improve we will be losing lots of athletes to other programs. Point to that, however, is that I and my party never leave early. In all the years of attending BYU games including hundreds and hundreds of games I can count on one hand the number of times we have left early like that.

I am one who really appreciates what the firesides can do but seeing the pictures of the Boise fireside before playing like this on the field just made me mad. To me, you earn the right to doing firesides by delivering what you are paid (by schollie, salary or bonus)to do on the field.
