Washington State was ranked #20, and they came a 4th Quarter in the Apple Cup away from playing in the Rose Bowl.

Indiana finished ranked #19.

Ohio State was ranked #17, and finished ranked #12.

Michigan was loaded with talent, but had a number of close losses. We were injury riddled. In any event, we went into bowl season ranked #1, and all we had to do was hold serve. BYU did so, and won the NC.

Lavell played far, far tougher bowl competition than Bronco. Bronco hasn't played 1 single bowl opponent that has finish ranked in the AP poll.

Fortunately, we played in the Holiday Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, the Fiesta, and the Capital One bowl under Lavell, as well as a few lesser bowls like those we have gone to under Bronco. I'd rather take a better bowl game and a mix of wins and losses any day.
