I personally think coaches are about 25% of the equation overall
It's not a science, it's just my opinion and you probably don't feel the same way.

I do think the coaches have made mistakes.

Should they have played broken back Riley? That's an easy one, especially with hindsight being 20/20.

Should the coaches have played Heaps? I think that is easy purely on hindsight, but knowing what EVERYONE thought they knew at the time, including the coaches, how could we have known?

Was it the right call to pull Heaps and play Nelson vs USU in 2011? I'd say so.

Who knew Riley and Taysom would get injured in 2012?

Was Taysom the right player last year? Yes, but he needed the experience.

Taysom starts getting his groove on, then bam, broken leg.

If Taysom was healthy this entire year, I feel safe in saying at this point that we would have had what most would consider a very good, or at least satisfactory season. Probably the best in the past 5 year. But, instead, because of that injury, it could be the worst in 5 years.

What about depth? We get quality QB's to come here, but they don't seem to want to stay when they don't win the job.

Some of those are on the coaches. Some are just bad luck.

QB play is the biggest single piece of the puzzle.
