Two things
1 - it is ridiculous to say you cant compare Bronco to Lavell. Bronco took over a program in the dumpster so there is a relavant comparison there, and they both coach at BYU so there is a comparison there as well. Bronco coached Beck, Hall, Collie, Pitta, VanNoy, Ziggy, etc (not to mention Urlacher). That is not a bad list of player either. And for the record, Young was barley in the program by Lavell's 10th year. To say you can compare two people is kind of the antithesis of what it means to compare something - not to mention that you actually made a comparison between Bronco and Lavell in your post....
2 - While it is logically impossible to determine if a coaches "best" years are behind him, this year absolutely disproves your theory. Without the injuries this season it is likely Broncos best year as HC. Which means he is actually on the rise.
